    I have and LG GSA-E60N/L Super Multi Drive is USB 2.0 powered and writes to DVD±R discs at 20x speed. Also supports DVD-ROM (Single/Dual), DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD+R Double Layer, DVD-R Dual Layer, DVD-RAM, CD-Digital Audio & CD-Extra, CD-Plus, CD-ROM, CD-ROM XA-Ready, CD-I FMV, CD-TEXT, CD-Bridge, CD-R, CD-RW, Photo-CD (Single & Multi-Session), Video-CD, DVD-Video.

    My problem is when I use my Pinnacle video capture device or use DVDfab the burner woks just fine. It also plays DVD movies just fine. Before I put in a blank DVD the Icon shows that the drive is a DVD writer. When I put in a blank disc the icon changes to CD, When I put in a DVD and it can be + or – and I double click on the drive icon to open the disc I get a message the drive is not accessible. I am unable to save any file type to the DVD. Can someone help me.

    Thanks Mark

    Went to LG web site. Can not find drivers. I have tried several types of DVD-R, DVD+RW, and DVD+-RW, There is an icon in my tray where you can check for firm ware updates i think. I will look at this again

    Do you have Roxio Easy CD Creator /DVD Creator in your computer?
    As for the drivers, just uninstall it from Device Manager and then reboot your computer, Windows will reinstall it. Also disable "Autoplay" for your drive.

    @Rotary
    I see waht you mean. Don't know about that, never used an USB drive.
    A little google about his issues shows that his problem is not that uncommon. Most of the time from what I gater is a conflict between different drivers/writing software?...once you insert a disc in the tray, the software takes over the drive and it becomes inaccessible...something like that.

    That's why I was asking about those Roxio writing software( they are featured on M$ website as being problematic), and I thought disabling autorun for the drive would not hurt either.
