I've never used the TMPGEnc DVD software before, so I'm new to this and just trying to figure it out as I go. Anyway, I have a DVD 8.5GB that has 9 episodes on it. I'm trying to back it up onto 2 4.6GB DVD's. I used DVD Shrink 3.2 in order to "re-author" each episode to around 800-900MB. Now, on the TMPGEnc screen, I click on the tab "source setup" and then "add DVD video" and navigate to my episodes. The first four episodes will go on with no problem, however, any episode above that will not work. Episodes 6 - 9 will start to transfer over and every episode will stop around the 520-530MB mark with the caption "stream writing error". What Am I doing wrong? It's not a space issue, because I tried just putting one episode (episode 6) on the disk and it failed to transfer. Basically, I have the episodes, I just want to put them onto 2 disk and create menus for them. If somebody knows a different software that i can use to do this, then please help. I have Nero but I don't think I can create a menu with it. Please help. Thanx.
this may be part of your problem.You are trying to put to much on.A 4.7 gig disc is actually only 4.38 in size.The other 400meg is manufacturers data.If you are attempting to burn past 4.3 gig then you will also encounter errors as that part of the disc is near the outer edge where the dye is the most unevenest As to your problems with the actual software .If you click the guides tab at the top of the page you will find a basic and andvanced tutorial which may help you out
