    Hello all,

I am needing to connect 2 houses to a 384k dsl connection.
The houses are a lot less than a half a mile apart probably about a quarter to a eight of a mile apart. There are no trees or anything obstructing the line of sight.

So i am asking what do i need [routers, bridges, or access points] and
what kind of antenna [omni or ???]
I can only spend about $150 on this project.

    any help appreciated

    thanks

ps. i also would like to know a latency estimate... i plan to play xbox live

Someone may come and tell you that you can do it, but my feeling is, it ain't going to happen.

$150 is not enough as you are looking at a $1000 plus. you are trying to send or receive a signal from 672.5ft to 1345ft. most routers might be lucky to hit 400ft & that gets reduced with the number of walls the signal has to go thru. also GrandpaBW is not picking on you but telling the truth that you don't like.
