I have a DVD player which plays xvid/divx and other mpeg4 formts but it won't play my MKV files I need a program that can split the mkv file, it has 2 languages japanese and enlish and 1 xvid video. The program will need to merge english audio with the xvid video as well.

I really hope I can split the files without altering the video quality or codecs, I want it's quality to remain the same.

    Nevermind, I figured it out.

If anyone else needs to do this you download MKVtoolnix: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MKVtoolnix Then download MKVextractGUI, and AVIMuxGUI. They're on the same site just use the search feature. Extract the zips into the same directory you installed MKVtoolnix. After you extract them open the GUI's with the exe files they come with.

The programs pretty self explanitory just extract the video and audio using mkvextractGUI. Now remux the video and audio using AVIMuxGUI. When you output the avi with AVIMuxGUI use generate data source from files befor pressing start.

    Sorry for the double post.

If your DVD player does not support hd, you must convert your MKV to lower resolution such as 720x480 divx file to watch. I know total video converter can convert MKV format to any formats.
