yes it is possible, but what kind of cd recorder are you talking about? If you have a stand-alone unit, simply connect the output from the cassette deck to the analog inputs of the CD Recorder via a dual RCA audio cable. If you are talking about a computer CDR drive, then it is still possible, just a little more complicated. You need a stereo RCA to 1/8" stereo mini plug cable so you can connect the tape player to the input of the sound card. Now make sure that the line-in channel is enable under the audio mixer, and you can then use any audio recording program to capture from the line-in. There are free programs that can do this like Audacity, or for around $100 you can get audio apps like Adobe Audition or Sound Forge that do a decent job. Once you're recorded, export the audio clips to 16 bit 44.1kHz wav format, then use a burning program like nero to burn the files to an audio CD

look at the back of your CD recorder and see if it has two red and white RCA jacks labeled "line in" or something to that effect

then like I said above, it should be a simple matter of pluging the output from the cassette deck to the input of the cd recorder deck. Then all you should have to do is make sure the recorder is set to line in input, adjust your record levels, then record away.
