I can'nt watch Hellboy2 cause my drive has 1.0 firmware{or so I've concluded}. Searching dell's website along with Sony's and googling the hell out of the WWW. I cant find any Firmware. Does anybody know where or how I can update my drive? It is a Matshita BD-RE uj-220. Thanks in advance.

Try Panasonic's support site, I think they are similar drives.

I don't think a PC drives firmware would prevent you from watching a movie. What led you to conclude this?

The fact that the disc puts up a message block stating that all features might not work. Now mind you I cant play the movie. I can however play the bonus disc. On the bonus disc it has a part about BD-live enbedded movies. Pretty much it says you have to be updated to version 2.0 to watch BD-enbedded 2.0 movies.
Other than the fact I can play other blu-ray movies on this machines I have no other reason to believe that I need a firmware upgrade. Matter of fact on the back of the movie it even states to check w/ the manufacture for an update.
I'm still dead in the water. I cant watch hellboy and it stinks to highheaven.

You are mixing up Blu-ray profiles with firmware upgrades. Stand alone Blu-ray players are defined within three different profiles, Profile 1.0, Profile 1.1 (Bonus View) and Profile 2.0 (BD Live).

Some stand alone players allow you to upgrade to Profile 2.0 via a firmware upgrade. This upgrades the players OS to be able to handle BD Live, it's not actually upgrading the drive. In your case, you are using a PC so that well and truly meets minimum requirements to be certified profile 2.0.

See here for explanation on the Blu-ray profiles: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/630898/3829811

Where I think your problem is, is with the Media Player software you are using not being able to utilise BD Live. What Media Player do you use to play your Blu-ray discs? I personally use ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre, which has full BD Live capabilities.

Ryu77, I pretty much understand about the profiles. I at first accused the media player "Dell MediaDirect" btw. I cant rip te movie either. I even tried using DvDFab 5110. Mind you I understand where your coming from and I'm fixing to find ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre.
Thanks for your suggestions so far.

Ok, well I got the impression that you were getting Blu-ray profiles mixed up with PC drive firmware versions because...

All of that gives me good reason to believe that you are mixing things up. Once again I would like to state that the movie cover and other relative information is referring to the Blu-ray profile level not your PC drive firmware.

Not mixing up but splicing together.
I had an understanding that blu-ray drives are updating the profile with a firmware update. They might not be. Its just how I took it. But I still understand that it's a Blu-ray profile that is needed to be updated.
Still to date I have'nt found a fix. I have'nt had time to DL ArcSoft yet.
I understand what your say, dont get me wrong, and it very well might be the media player. That does'nt explain why DvDFab wont Rip it. DvDFab has'nt updated since 5110. Just leaves me thinking that that version handles HellBoy2. I dont have a way to test this yet. This comes at a time when I have very little time to play.
I hope the movie is good.
