I'm not sure is this is the correct forum for this question but I'll give it a shot. I have a movie that is divx format as .avi burnt onto a cdr. I am trying to reformat it so i am able to burn it and watch it on a normal dvd player. If this is not the correct forum please let me know and I will post it somewhere else. Thanks.
you probably want the video encoding forum. What you need to do is convert the file to mpeg and then create a VCD.
[bold]first if u want to burn avi or divx or n e pc format movies onto a dvd to play on your home dvd player its kinda time consuming but if u want......... 2 programs u will need NEODVD AND TMPG neo dvd is to convert the movie files and tmpg to burn the movie files.....neo takes to long to burn so i use tmpg open neodvd......follow the steps and if u can't then u stupid and forget it next all u have to the is click add to add the movie file then click done or somshit like that to start converting (takes about 1 hour for a regular 1 to 2 hour movie unless yoru pc sucks then dyam hahaha) then its gonna make a VIDEO_TS FOLDER where u saved the converted movie to make a folder lets say PORN. put the VIDEO_TS folder u made into the PORN FOLDER also MAKE A AUDIO_TS folder in the porn folder make sure it in caps or spelled right or u get no sound after open tmpg click on burn or some shit like that and add or open the movie folder to open it in TMPG when u add the VIDEO_TS FOLDER THE AUDIO_TS folder should automatically follow so u should see both folders then all u have to do is click burn and u are done enjoy the movie after u burns on n e home dvd player........remember pirating is illegal people =D p.s. u need a dvdrewriter drive and soem of the dvd rewriters only support dvd-r discs or dvd+r dics unless u have one where u supports both discs and soem of the home players dont; read rewriteable disc so i advise u not to use REWRITEABLE DVD DISCS
I use Cucusoft Avi to VCD DVD converter and Nero Burning Rom 6. I havent tried it yet but it said it would take like 4 or 5 hours for a regular 2 hour movie. Should I consider getting what this guy said or is it pretty much the same thing?? Thanks.
Tmpeg is another converter you can use if you want but for what you doing I'd just stay with what I have.
What about reading http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/110106 and using the software described there? (VCD=Video CD) Of course, encoding an AVI in a proper mpeg-1 form takes time...
I havent been able to test out any of the recent comments made on this thread. I wont be able to do it for a few more weeks sine I am on vacation. But will post back when I've had the chance.
