    you need to buy a tv tuner then you hook up your cable line to it and then you can watch tv on ur pc

    sniping, did you even read what he asked ?

    @gunot05 : you'll need a converter, like this one : http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/PC-TV_video_adapter.html
    Mind you, that's just an example, there are tons more that might be better/cheaper, do a google search, and ask around.
    Also, some motherboards come with s-video and composite video outputs, so check the back of your pc, maybe you'll only need some cables to do it.
    Example would be this : http://www.svideo.com/svideoscart.html

    you mean "output," not "input," right? yeah, you need a converter that will take your vga connection (that normally goes to your monitor) and run it into component cables or something along those lines, which can be run to your tv. i believe there are many such units out there that will split the signal, allowing it to be run to both a typical monitor and tv at the same time, though they will display the same images.

    no, you don't *need* one, but certain converters will allow you the option in the future, should you chose it.

    umm, okay....the advice given to you by myself, and the others i imagine, still stands.

    just know in advance that unless you are using a really good lcd tv or an hdtv or something, your picture is really going to suck when it comes to anything like typing, cruising the net, etc.

    considering your tv runs at some resolution like 640x480 and most computers run at 1024x768 or higher, depending on the viewer's preference, i would most definitely say "yes."

    well, you still could; i'm simply recommending that you don't make the tv your primary monitor. it would eventually cause some eye damage, too, i'm sure.
