Anyone have any opinion on these? We've been through about 5 DVD players in the past 5 years - so is it worth getting a TV with built in DVD.

If the DVD bit has a shorter lifespan, will it effect the TV?

Everyone I've known that had one of these, ended up with a tv with a broken dvd player.

You're awfully rough on dvd players, aren't you?
In the past 8-9 years, I've had two dvd players, and still using the last one. The Panasonic lasted less than 3 yrs., and my Pioneer is still going, after about 5-6 yrs. I use my dvd players almost every day. I have about 1000 dvds, and when nothing is on tv (quite frequently), I'll throw a movie or concert in the player.
