hi all i have two avi files that make up a movie i want to join them so there one movie problem is this.
    taken from avicodec

    File : 229 MB (229 MB), duration: 0:47:00, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 24 %
    Video : 209 MB, 623 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 352*272 (4:3), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5,
    Audio : 20 MB, 64 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3,

the other is also taken from avicodec

    File : 218 MB (218 MB), duration: 0:47:13, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 31 %
    Video : 175 MB, 519 Kbps, 25.0 fps, 400*304 (4:3), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5,
    Audio : 43 MB, 128 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3,

i followed a tut from another site to change the codec so they matched but the bitrate is different (i dont know if that makes a difference)
but the audio is also different which i know will cause problems i cant join them usuing virtual dub until the data matches as it wont let me so any help i would be grateful for
    thankyou in advance

I'm not well versed in VirtualDub so I'll suggest an easy way I know about. You can download Stoik Video Converter freeware and convert one of the .avi files so that the output params match the other. It's pretty self-explanatory how to use it.
