I just bought a new Pioneer DVR-107 DVD Writer. I already had a CD-RW in the pc that worked perfectly. But when I installed the Pioneer neither worked. I swapped them around, but it didnt work. It seems that they both work perfectly fine seperately, if only one is installed in the primary slot, but not together. Im suspecting there is something wrong with the IDE cabe, as both drives will only work in the Primary slot. I only have the one IDE cable connecting them both. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what the problem could be, and how I could solve it? Id appreciate any help. Thanks.
Hi sajnam. I have read several threads similar to your problem. I suggested to one member to move the CD-RW off the IDE cable with the DVD burner. The setup that worked was Main HD as Master on 1st IDE, CD-RW as Slave on same IDE. DVD burner as Master on secondary IDE and extra HD if any as Slave on the second IDE. It seemed that once the burner drives were not on the same IDE cable that it worked. It may help you out. Good luck. Jerry
Hi, Thanks for that idea. Apparantly someone told me that there is a switch on the back, where I can specifiy one drive to be the slave, and the other to be the master. I've done that, and they both seem to work now.
