So when I use DVD Decrypter to change the booktype to a DVD ROM using a Dual Layer DVD, what do I click on. The BenQ tab obviously, then for the "Change For" tab do I pick "Drive (For DVD+R DL Media) and then New Setting "DVD ROM". I tried those choices last time and it said success but at 50% burning there was an error and it stopped. On that faq for the booktype how come the "Change For" tab changes to "next write". Mine didn't do that.

Any help is appreciated, I don't want to make another coaster.

ok, last time u tried this...seems like there is something ELSE wrong w/ your setup if you made a coaster on the dvd+r DL media~ :)

yes, you are correct in assuming that in the Benq tab, you click the (For dvd+r DL media) one and change it to dvd-rom~

the booktyping utility found in dvd decrypter has NOTHING to do with how the dvd+r DL is burned in the MIDDLE of it (you stated at 50%), there is a problem with the layer break, from what i gather, on your dvd+r DL burn...the booktyping process is performed RIGHT AT THE LEAD IN...when the burning actually starts, not in the middle at the layer break...

what kind of dvd+r DL media are you using btw? brand name?

on my Benq 1640, it simply LOVES Verbatim dvd+r DL media, made in singapore and i have never encountered an error thus far in over 100 DL burns...

there is something wrong with either the media you are using, your actual burner, or decrypter (software- you might consider uninstalling dvd decrypter and re-installing a fresh copy again, don't know if it will help, but it won't hurt) :)

in terms of the error @ 50% this has NOTHING to do with the booktyping utility built into decrypter...it's something else...

    Memorex Double Layer DVD+R

No good? I'll try it again in the morning. 15 of them for 40bucks isn't cheap either. I would just buy wooden coasters if I knew they would cost this much ;)

yes...please avoid ANY media by Memorex in the future, it simply does NOT matter whether it be dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd+r DL, etc..etc...do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from wasting your hard earned $$$ on Memosux~! :)

see my sig. for GOOD QUALITY media recommendations...

also, you paid WAYYYYYYYYYYY too much for those Memorex dvd+r DLs...you can get the Verbatims dvd+r DL, made in singapore, i mentioned above in the previous post for $20 in a 10-pack spindle when on sale locally @ office max, best buy, etc... :) these are hands down THE BEST dvd+r DL media i would suggest for your dual layer burning needs~ :)

i wouldn't pay $40 for 15 pack of ANY KIND OF DISCS...i don't care if they claim to be made of gold! hehehe...

just wait for the sales... $20/10 pack of Verbs dvd+r DL is quickly becoming the "normal sale price" they going for in retail outlets.

    good luck

    docTY~
