Ubutntu 8.04 Twinview

    Olen nyt 3 päivää yritäänyt säätää tuota twinviewiä toimivaksi, eli ongelmana on ollut etten ole saanut kuvaa näkymään "kunnollisena" telkkarissa. Välillä kuva on ollut sininen ja välillä harmaa, ja resoluutiot on ollut päin peetä. Nyt sitten xorg.conffia muokkamaalla sain tuon tv näkymään suht hyvin ( eli valikot eivät ole näkyvissä, eli reso on pikkasen liian korkea. Kyseessä on siis pamasonicin 42 plasma.

    Nyt ongelmana on se, ettei tietokoneen nättä lähde enää päälle, eli kuva näkyy ainoastaan telkkarissa.

    nvidia-settings auttanee. Mitäs liitäntöjä käytät? Section "InputDevice" on yleensä turha uudemmissa X versioissa jos hal käytössä.

    Pistän tähän omani, joka on nyt käytössä. Siinä on kaksi X:ää. Leffat telkkariin esim DISPLAY=:0.1 mplayer leffa. Composite on poistettu, mikä parantaa xine-lib kirjaston kuvanlaatua. ns. tearing. Jos työpöydässä haluaa pitää 3D efektit, niin sitten päälle. Itsellä ei ole beryl, compiz ym efekteihin tarvetta. vdpau tuki taas on hieno asia teräväpiirrossa.

    Ikkuna-manageri on oma ongelmansa. Jos ei saa kunnon kuvaa voi koettaa myös fluxbox tai openbox kaltaista kevyttä ikkunamanageria. Esim jotkut kwin versiot eivät osaa näyttää leffaa oikein, vaan kuva leviää molemmille näytöille.

    Kun saa toimivan systeemin aikaiseksi - kannattaa miettiä X:n tai ikkunamanagerin päivittämistä.

    Itse asensin XP:n pitkästä aikaa pienelle levylle. Syy Blue-Ray leffojen katsominen TV:stä. Jostain syystä sain PowerDVD:n kaatamaan koko koneen, sinisiä ruutuja, etc. Meni pari päivää ja vieläkin kauko-ohjain ei toimi ja kunnon monikanava äänet uupuu... taitaa XP lähteä ja oikea soitin hankintaan.
