Hi all! Thank all of you for your words of wisdom...I have been able to simply read the forums and guides to find answers to a lot of my questions. I have found myself with a virus! I noticed when I started up the computer, my background was white and there was a new icon on my desktop. It was BraveSentry. I have Bellsouth's protection kit, and ran a scan. It deleted a lot of files, but I couldnt delete one particular file. I then d/led AVG, and it found 6 infected files that my other did not detect. I was able to delete them all, except 1 file. I then downloaded HijackThis and I have the report (see below) My symptoms are that my computer is running very slow, I cant change my desktop background, and when I start the internet, AVG and bellsouth give me a notice of this infected file, but access to it is denied???? I tried the link you posted for me, and it scanned and detected wonderfully, but I have to purchase the entire software to be able to remove it. I will buy it, if necessary, but I was hoping not to have to buy if there's anything available for free (i know, I know...Im penny-pinching!)
