i just heard that telewest are increasing there broadband speeds from 4mbps to 10mbps!!!

telewest confirmed this to me today that this is being rolled out in most telewest areas between now and christmas and also the price is being reduced to £35

i think id better buy a 400gb hard drive in preparation!

yes. internet is becoming revolutionary. in the next 12 months most broadband customers with 1 mb connection or higher will get 8-10mb depending on area/isp etc etc and current 8-10 will get the 16 mb service which is currently being tested in my home county hertfordshire!! so if you can get hold of an 8mb service now (i think bulldog do one in the UK, anyway) then you'll prob be first to experience 16 meg, which is just the beginning. ive been hearing loads of roumours about other silly speeds. but i know this one correct. also on 16 meg they estimate download speeds of 1450kb/s. WOW!

I used to work for Telewest and am still in contact with some of my old workmates.

    Want some HOT news?

After they raise the speed to 10Mbps they'll be working on expanding it to 50Mbps!!!

They're not in this area yet so I'm unsure about elsewhere in the UK but they're bringing out a new digibox with two hard drives so you can record two cable channels and watch a third at the same time.
