I am trying to burn avi files on a dvd like an movie. I have used some programmes that were named here in this forum but or they did't work or its to VCD whats the best way to burn an .avi file on DVD that i can play on my standalone dvd player?? i used Ulead DvD Moviefactory 2 but when i try to install it it just keep asking about: C:\DOCUME~1\****\LOCALS~1\Temp\pft158.tmp\Disk1 so i looked there and he just can't find the file he looks for, so i downloaded another install but still he looks for that file i downloaded this version on the official webpage (it was the trail version)
I'm about 10 days into my trial version and I can tell you right now; I likely won't be purchasing it afterwards. I haven't found it very useful at all. One thing I have noticed is the path it is asking for is a hidden folder. Do you have hidden folders set to be visable? The full path would be c:\Documents and Settings\****\Local Settings\Temp\ptf158.tmp\Disk1 I installed a new hard drive specifically for DVD backups. That way it is easy to find any files or folders, and I can delete everything off that drive if I want because the entire drive is just a temp drive. BTW- seeing as this is in your Temp folder, it likely was deleteted when you logged off or shut down. You may want to re-point the program and start over.
I think this is a fix for it on the ulead website here "http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf2faq.htm#8" Bee..
I used TMPGenc DVD author twice with succes. (Empire strikes Back and Return of the Jedi). Both were AVI's and I converted them to mpeg (DVD). Then I used TMPGenc DVD author to create a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS structure out of the Mpeg. Burn them with Nero (new compilation) in DVD-rom UDF/ISO mode (or DVD video mode if you want) and it will play on your standalone player. This will NOT be real DVD-quality obviously.
How do you use TMPGEnc to author to VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS Folders ? You must have a different version than i do, i can only output to mpeg. Bee
Yes It's called (I mentioned that): TMPGenc DVD author (not the regular TMPGenc !!) You can import/add the mpeg files into it, create a menu and chapters. The last step is that it will create a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS structure. BURN BABY BURN
Don't matter found the bugger hope it's faster than all the other authoring software there all to sloooooow, if it's got the same quality that TMPGEnc has got i'll be happy it's the only encoder i use "quality". Thank's Wizkid Bee....
where can you get Tmpengen DVD Authoring from? i have many mpg movies which i want to burn onto a dvdr. however they are 3 mpg files which made the movie (which i use to burn on scr as svcd) can i use that programme to convert all 3 files then burn all 3 files onto the dvd to made the movie???
You need to use TMPGEnc encoder to convert the div-x to dvd compatible mpeg files then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to author the files into ifo's and add chapter's and menu's ect then burn to disk using your favorite burner, i use nero and burn using UDF 1.02 mode. Bee...
Now I've got a problem! When loading my divx into TMPGenc, it says something about the soundtrack being VBR and that it should be exported as a wav and resampled at a 'fixed' bitrate. I ignored the message, re-encoded to both mpeg1 and mpeg2 and there is a major synch issue with the soundtrack! What's the easiest way to 'fix' this? Any and all help in this matter would be GREATLY appreciated.
You need to open the Div-X file in virtual dub then under the Audio menu select FULL PROCESSING MODE, also under the Audio menu select CONVERSION and select 44.1Hz for VCD and 48Hz for DVD, then under the File menu select SAVE WAVE and save to a folder of your choice. Then select the film as normal in TMPGEnc but use the new sound file for the sound input. Done! No more sync problems (i hope) Bee....
