well im trying to burn an avi i downloaded onto a dvd through nero 7 premium and i keep getting the error "Unable to Create disc structure" heres my log, i posted before and they said to update my firmware which i did to the latest, but i still had the same problem, any other suggestions? Here is some things i saw: I am not sure what error that is in Nero. Maybe creaky knows. 16x is waaay too fast for a movie. Try slowing down to 4x max. I see in one of your sessions you were going 2.4x burn. try freeing up more memory when you burn. I like to keep it down to 30 % or less memory in use, but thats just me. That one with free memory of 18mb, is just not enough memory. the media detect is off, but that last error means your burner doesn't like the media. You have mulitple burn logs posted, but in one of them I saw you were using Tys which i think is the best media. I always have problems with disc at once using Nero. Try unchecking that next time. on this one it looks like you had a reset, and no disc was present? something gave you a hardware error. It looks like you changed your Benq to CDRom4 device here. I am new at looking thru these logs, but that is what i see so far. You might also need to go thru these logs and edit out your serial number. I think they are the numbers under and since you posted multiple logs, they appear in here many times. Just go back to your original post and edit them out. Anyone else want to take a shot at this log, go for it. I couldn't see what was causing the problem other than what i posted.
where can i ask creaky at? ive been using some crappy DVD-R media what should i use instead? and should it be DVD+R ive heard that my particular burner has problems with DVD-R but i dont know, does it really matter? and what should i do about that hardware error?
- EDIT OUT your serial number. you've posted your entire Nero log so there's a few other references to your serial number throughout your post. EDIT them all out. I just picked out one of the sections for my reply. - your burner's firmware's about a year out of date, (5 versions out of date too); latest, B7W9 is here - http://support.benq.com/front/BenqM...langu=null&ops=2756&GenMenu=&RootId=undefined if that horrible looking link doesn't work, try this - http://support.benq.com/files/storage/Firmware/DVDRW/DW1620/B7W9.zip - that question mark means one of two things, either the burner's external to the PC, or the ATAPI drivers aren't loaded correctly. going by this line - your burner's most definitely internal so the atapi drivers need reloading. Fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm - wow, what's happened to all your free memory; sufficient total memory, but you're gonna have to free up more memory prior all to burns by closing down more programs, you got virtually nothing left there - 4150MB is fine however anything over 4300MB is too close to outer edge of discs; so, just for info, if ever you use DVD Shrink, make sure to set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences, thus avoiding outer edge of discs and not sacrificing much space. - hmmm, are these genuine TY discs do you know ?; i ask as i have been caught out by inferior (and FAKE) TYG02 before. - could be due to the other problems i've pointed out and due to fake TY media.. - most people recommend 4x max for movie burns - there's no ATAPI drivers mentioned in this paragraph, this should be fixed via following that link i posted further up.
whenever i burn i close every program that i can but it still shows that i have no memory left, i dont get it, when i have nero on that takes up alot of memory though but i close pretty much everything so it shouldn't matter right?
