Hello, My attempts to decompress the audio of an AVI file (in order to convert it to MPEG) have all been fruitless. I first tried the VirtualDub method ("Old Method" at http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/avi2mpeg1.html), which resulted in the following error message upon saving as AVI: I also tried the audio decompressor that comes with AVI2VCD, but to no avail (could not render the audio stream). GSpot states that the audio is "8000Hz 128 kb/s total (2 chnls) LAME3.95", and that I have the codec for it -- "0x0055(MP3, ISO) MPEG-1 Layer 3". I may be new to this, but I once decompressed another AVI's audio (using the method described on the site above) without stumbling upon any significant problems; I don't know why it would be any different this time. Thanks for any hints.
Open the AVI with Nandub and select 'Save WAV'. This should demux the audio into an MP3 file. It might say WAV, but it's a compressed (MP3) file. You could then decompress the MP3 into a WAV using CDex or whatever... L8R
