I bought the retail version of nero 8 Ultra Edition...I deleted Ultra Edition 6 using Add/Remove Programs. When start up the cd to install, it calls for a system reboot by a previous software installation...reboot to continue installation of Nero 8... I have rebooted, but its just a endless loop thing. Snooped around and seen the suggestion of running the clean tool...well it did something then an system error window popped up, so don't know if the clean tool actually did all it was supposed to. Maybe should have used this clean tool to do the actual uninstall of version 6, but who knew that you just can't use the add/remove function in the control panel! There must be something in the registry that is messing up the installation, I guess, but have no idea what. I have sent an email to Nero's tech support, but in the meantime...I dropped $100 for this new Nero and now stuck with no burning software at all....lovely... Anyone have any experience with this kind of trouble? I'd sure appreciate some pointers if possible...thanks
I d/l'd the latest version 8.2.8.0 and it allowed me to install by having an option to continue the installation when that reboot system message popped up. Only trouble now, is that I cannot start an application from the Smart Start CP...it gives me a Runtime Error. If I go through the Start menu and select the application in that way, it works fine. Anyone else have this type of glitch?
