hi all, my apologies if this is not the section to post as all this is the first time i plunge into such forums. indeed i am badly in destress anyways, i'm having problems playing certain avi files. i've tried installing almost all codecs (ac3,klite,ffdshow,avicodec,etc.) & players (divx,mp9,10,11,jetbasic,aviplayer,etc.) that i can find with no luck. there's obviously something wrong (most probably me) that i can't figure out and i'm getting this error message. any light from you guys in the audio/video heavens would be much appreciated. many thanks! Drag the file onto 'GSpot' and find out exactly what codec it needs. If it reports that the codecs are installed, use GSpot to try and play the file http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/GSpot270a.zip
wOw!!! cool stuff man...i ran gspot, found the codec that caused my misery (tscc, as it turned out), downloaded, installed...and voila!!! (actually i installed vlc player that day which was able to read the files. problem was, i couldn't stop thinking why it wouldn't play after downloading half of the codecs & players i found! revenge was the word!!! now i am at peace.....<bow> with many thanks of course to you & this forum. ....much appreciated.
