Greetings to everyone! What I'm about to ask may seem noobish (and I'm truly scared of being severly flamed because this), but that's only 'cause I am new here. My problem is this: I've burnt a data DVD+R with Nero 5, and I used about 4.2gb of the storage space on that DVD. Right before burning, the program said something about multisession, and that the DVD might not be readable after burning and using multisession to create several sessions. When the program asked me whether I wanted to continue with multisession or not, I clicked 'without multisession' or something similar. I also left the DVD open, I didn't finalize it. The DVD burning was finished after about 15-20 minutes, but Windows didn't recognize the DVD when I tried to read it. Only Nero recognized the DVD and all the data on it after the burning session. My questions are: What did I do wrong? Should've I finalized it? Can I still make this dear DVD of mine work, or is it ruined (in which case I'll prepare a funeral ceremony for it)? Thank you in advance!
Hi qooper, I haven't done any data dvds yet but have done cdrs. Here is how it works with cdrs, I assume dvdrs would be the same. If left opened and unfinalized, you can add more data to it with the program you were using. For it to read on all systems, it needs to be closed and finalized. Its this way on data cdrs so I guess it's the same for dvdr data discs. Put it back in Nero and see if it will let you close it and finalize it. Jerry
I don't know if this is the same problem but i had DLA installed and formatted a dvdrw disc, then burnt to it using dvdxcopy express, all done and no worries, throw it in the drive and it isn't recognisable even in windows. Do u have any dla type s/ware (direct copy to disc s/ware) on your system? I removed that and now it copies fine, hope it helps abit. Bailey
Thanks for your help guys, but I think my DVD is dead It seems to be finalized already, although I'm not sure how it's possible. Nero doesn't let me finalize it or add any more data onto it, so this would suggest a finalized DVD.. Bah, it's just 4 euros, I should try to cheer up Also I tried to burn a data DVD with B's Recorder, and it worked perfectly. So I guess everythings fine now.. Anyway, thanks everyone
