Hi, got an Xecuter 2.6 mod with Evolution dash running great but I can't get the M$ dash to run. Want to play DVDS.
I can run DVDs using an ISO of DVDx but want to get the 'Launch DVD' menu option of evolution to start the M$ dash. I've renamed the dash & have it coded OK in evox.ini but it gives the code 21 when I launch it.

Also, can I copy the stuff on my DVDx CD to the HD & link to it's default.xbe to run it??

Don't know what else to say - I've searched the forums here but can't find anything similar.

    Thankyou in advance.

    Mike

Ok find a copy of BoxPlorer (if you don't have it already!), and execute it point it to you're C:\ Partition. Try looking for any of the following:

    xboxdash.xbe
    msdash.xbe

Or something simular, you can boot *.xbe File directly from Boxplorer. If everything is fine with your 'msdash / xboxdash.xbe' File then you should be able to boot it with out an Error 21. Since an 'Error 21' is a Dashboard spciffic error. To the effect that the XBOX™ tryed to lauch a .XBE and was told instead to reboot. It's hard to imagine what excatly is worng here.

But, here's a quick and dirty thought... Have you tryed booting your XBOX™ with the 'Chip' turned off?? This will surly allow you to play DVD's then...

    Hi Ichijoe,
I'm connecting to the xbox from my PC using ftp - I have set c:\xboxdash.xbe to run from my 'MSDashboard' menu option but it still gives this error.

I also get the error when I switch the modchip off.

Do you happen to know what size the 'normal' xbe file is as I'm pretty sure I messed around renaming stuff when i set this up over a year ago but can't remember what I renamed to what! Doh!

Is there a DVD player app I can install to my HD so I can just trigger that off from a menu command??

    Thanks

    Mike
