I'm looking for one that will second as a CDR drive with a blank CD in it. Hoping that there is a program that will do this and register in any old program that can burn to CDs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A virtual cd rom works by mounting a cd/dvd image. The most common format is the cue and bin files but there are many others. Some virtual drives support more image types than others.

Once a virtual drive is installed most of the programs on the computer recognize it as a regular cd drive.

Burning programs will not simulate burning to a virtual drive.

There are many virtual drive programs out there some of two of the most common are Alcohol 120% (free trial)and Daemon Tools (free).
