I am trying to burn my AVI files to create VCD using Nero Burning rom and I keep getting the error of "Error in the video MPEG encoder" what does that mean??? HELP!!!!!!!!
This is a problem several people have noticed starting with Nero 6.3.1.15. It is also a problem with v 6.3.1.17. Go back to v6.3.1.10 and all should be fine until Nero fixes this bug.
This is actually a Blessing because Nero uses the worst encoder even created so it makes very low quality VCD/SVCD/DVD"s...You would be Much better off useing something like Tmpgenc or Mainconcept encoder to encode your AVI files to Mpeg1/VCD and then you can use nero to just burn the Mpeg1 files to VCD....
Hay Guys/Girls. Got a mega problem here. When trying to convert Avi's Mpegs, ect, ect to DVD Format on NeroVision 2 the system keeps resetting itself after about 5-15 mins thro converting. I read ya info about going back to Nero v6.3.1.10 which i have, but i like to know why this happens, ive not tryed to convert any files to DVD format again with nero untill i know what the problem is.. This also happens on Roxio Easy CD/DVD, and on some convertors. Anyone got any idears... System running is. BioStar MotherBoard. Yo.. Ok i think i solved the problem i was having with my Video Encodeing from Avi to DVD, Mpeg to DVD, ect, ect. There's me ripping out Hard-Drives and installing XP on them to see if i could find out the problem, taking like 2 days + trying to find out what it was, and i found out it's to do with my Video settings... i normaly have my video setting at 1024 X 768. I though about changing it to 1152 X 864, then did a system reset, pulled out 1 20-gig HD, and 1 DVD Reader, turnend on my PC, and went into my utils and made sure i can get Nero to convert Media Files.. I then went to NERO VCD maker, inserted a AVI file, a 300+ meg file, then hit make VCD... Normaly 5-15 mins into the convertion Nero or any Converstion programe would resert my system, but this time to my suprise, the conversion worked, i now have a VCD copy of Sherlock Homles movie which i converted from an Avi file. Now all i need to do is re-install my 20-gig HD, and my DVD Reader, and try another Avi Conversion. if it fails then i will know it has somethink to do with over heating to, which i thought about.!! My next conversion will be VCD again as they dont take as long to do than DVD conversions. So let cross fingers and hope and pray, it will work with my other deviced installed, if not they will have to stay out. FireFox
I have a problem. Whenever I add the file to be burned as VCD, the NERO prompts "Video MPEG encoder not available" What must be the solution?
Hi krx100, If you have not been scared away by comments by others in this forum, you should upgrade to the latest NeroVision Express 2.1.2.18 and see if this addresses your issue. We have made significant improvements in performane and quality in our encoder in the latest upgrade. And we will of course continue to do so with upgrades in the future. I'll be the first to admit that others such as TMPGEnc have provided an encoder that is more versatile and better quality than our encoder in the past, but we are taking steps to address that. But at the same time, our engineers need to spread out their efforts in a number of areas as we provide a full feature solution. Whereas others such as TMPGEnc can concentrate completely on encoding. There will always be a benifit in that ability. And Kgargar, Are you sure you are trying to create a VCD and not an SVCD? Both our OEM and Retail bundles come with a free MPEG-1 encoder for creating VCDs. So if you are trying to create a VCD, there must have been an install problem. I would recommend using the Nero Clean Tool from off our Nero website to uninstall our software, and then do a fresh install and see if this addresses your issue. You can use the below link for this. http://www.nero.com/us/631940828445001.html If you are trying to create an SVCD, then I need to know if you have an OEM or Retail version of Nero. The OEM version may not come with our MPEG-2 encoder, and you would need to purchase this seperately. The Retail version would come with the MPEG-2 encoder. Regards, Craig
