hi i have the sony xperia u on orange contract in uk, looking to root it but in order to do that i have to unlock the bootloader but checking to see if the device allows this it says no, ive had the phone since september and was hoping to put newest android version on any ideas? thanks
On that one they are correct the boot loader cannot be unlocked so updating the phone to the latest version has to be done by sony and because sony is basically getting rid of there older xperia phones and tablets right now i think you might have a problem coming up where you might just have to upgrade the device.. Or my question for you is the phone on 3g or 4 g service the reason i ask is this if your phone has a sim card and supports 3g you can go to another android device by just switching out the sim card then rooting the boot loader and using a new phone with a better version of android problem solved... same goes if you find a phone thats on 4g and your phone sim card supports 4 g you can go to a 4g phone as well. Try amazon first and then ebay
