Save yourself some time and take it to a professional unlocker. It can be unlocked directly. Australian phones, especially the 6030 are nearly impossible to unlock remotely. Haven't figured it out yet but don't expect any luck with codes.
What makes Australian phones so difficult to unlock? Surely the same principle applies as it does for a Nokia 6030 from another country?? The problem with taking the phone to a professional unlocker is that for the cost (I presume around $AUD30) I may as well have bought the phone outright without the lock (unless it can be done very cheaply). I think the problem I have come across is that the online software does not provide for Virgin Mobile here. I tried using codes for the Optus network following a post I read, but without success. Any help with a network code for Virgin Mobile would be appreciated. Of course I welcome a suggested unlock code from anyone. Doug
