unlock region code

    hi, we moved to the US 6 months ago. We bought a Insigna DVD/VHS player, model 040924A. We can only play region 1 DVD's. Our children would love to watch their European movies. Can anyone help us?

    You may need to buy a region free dvd player. I'm pretty sure the Oppo 970HD is one. See here: http://www.oppodigital.com/dv970hd/dv970hd.html
    Region code isn't the only concern. European dvds are PAL format, aren't they? U.S. format is NTSC, which won't play PAL. I think the Oppo converts the PAL to NTSC? Read up on this at the site I linked you to.
