Hi, I got this unlock code from some software... you can try it... Just put a different SIM card i.e. SIM card of a different carier (Eg: T-mobile, etc) and there will be message saying INCORRECT SIM just type this code : *#7465625*12*37491037# and then restart your phone . Can anyone help me on this? I'm in a similar postion, trying to unlock W300i, here in the UK. I've only looked into this for a couple of hours this morning but everything I see refers to buying a cable and some software. Any help would be much much appreciated!
i think that's the only way to unlock sony ericcson phones for now. i haven't seen anyone yet in this forum who got his ericsson phone successfully unlocked using a code. you really have to spend for the cable and software, or bring it to a professional who has the right tools to unlock your phone.
Okay, thanks. I suspected as much. Now I need to decided what's best/cheapest...do I buy the cable and software or pay a tenner for someone else to do it. I've seen some software where you have to buy credits for each phone you unlock. To me that sounds a little expensive (when you've bought the cable too). If I could get the cable and free software then we're in business Gonna have a look on fleabay...
There are NO unlock codes/any way of unlocking the SE W300i, by a code yet. It has to be physically plugged into a computer with a cable (I think it's a cruiser cable for this model)and unlocked with specific software. The cheapest and easiest way to do this is to take it into a high street phone shop and let them do it. Cost me £10 for somebody to do mine on Saturday. The first shop I went to couldn't do it, but the second shop saved my butt Hope this helps.

So, what happens if you don't use a SIM from a different service provider? Say perhaps you leave your current SIM in the phone or leave the SIM slot empty? I'd like to try this code myself, but I dont have another SIM. I wouldn't want to experiment with a buddies SIM obviously.
It won't work because you can't unlock the W300i with a code! It has to be hooked up to a puter with a specific unlocking cable. Maybe it's different in other countries/different networks. But that's the way it is in the UK at the moment.
So, are you saying that Sony Ericssons can't be unlocked via a code based off the IMEI number, either?
I don't know to be honest. I couldn't find any free software for the cable required for the W300i, so I found it cheaper to take it to the high street for £10. I would have preferred to have bought a cable/software so I could use it in the future on other phones, but it seems that the newer SE's all appear to use different cables for each model, so you have to ask yourself how many W300's are you gonna unlock! I've noticed for the older SE's you can get the software free with the cable. Not really much help, sorry...I gave up messing about when I relaised it was cheaper to take it to a shop for them to do it for me. Good luck anyway
User_name....that's correct, in the UK it can't (for newer SE models. Older ones you can do it with a code) but if you see above someone's managed to get it to work. Maybe it's different in other countries? ;/

Can somebody let me know where in London I can get my SE W200i unlocked. I was looking for the cable but got a couple of replies from these unlocking sites, and they reckon the W200i is not supported yet. I'm sure I can fool it into thinking is a W300i. Ta...
