I've grabbed a 6230i off a colleague who upgraded their phone. T Mobile specific. Managed to get it unlocked. I can see all the settings. I can see my numbers on the Orange SIM inserted. Can't get reception. Anyone know if I have to Force it to choose Orange network or whether I'm just being stoopid? I'd appreciate the help
No message - Phone accepts all key presses. Can turn on and off no problem. Just no reception. When I enter phone settings (Network selection) and change from automatic to manual it searches for ages and can't find a signal. Message reads - No network found. Wierd as the phone was working 3 days ago.
Now that's strange. Get hold of a T-Mobile SIM ans see if it works. How to Check If Your Phone is Blacklisted!! Different networks blacklist handsets in different ways: You could make a call to the Service Provider. It could be reported stollen. Nothing more to do. How to Check If Your Phone is Blacklisted!! Different networks blacklist handsets in different ways: Orange & O2: If you place an active orange or O2 sim into a blacklisted handset you phone will not show any signal strength at all! If the handset is a Nokia then a "SIM card registration failed" message will also be displayed. For most other manufacturers the handset will simply show no signal! Vodafone & T-Mobile If you place an active Vodafone or T-Mobile sim into a blacklisted handset, the phone will appear to function perfectly UNTIL you try to make an outgoing call. When you try to call out from the handset you will hear a sequence of beeps and then the call will be dropped!!
It's what I suspected. I'll have to get onto T-Mobile or Orange to see if they can un-blacklist the phone! Thanks very much
