Unlocking my Nokia 6080b phone

    Any help anyone could provide on this would be very helpful. I've recently moved from Canada to the US, and would like to avoid buying a new phone. However, my phone won't support US sim cards. I believe this means I need to unlock it.

    The IMEI is: 353244014167354
    The code is: 05523331013B6
    The type is RM-167
    FCC ID: PPIRM-167
    and IC is: 661U-RM167

    And it's been on a rogers network so far. If you need any more information, just ask. Thanks in advance.

    To enter code:
    Make sure battery is charged.
    Remove SIM first.
    Power on.
    Ignore “Insert SIM”
    Press the # key.
    then press the "star" key (*) quickly to get the P and W and +
    Press * 3 times quickly for (p) \
    Press * 4 times quickly for (w) IMPORTANT
    Press * 2 times quickly for (+) /
    and the rest of the code---
    Begin with # and end with #.

    IMPORTANT!!
    Verify code before pressing the last #.
    Pay attention. You only have about two seconds.

    "Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked.
    "Error code" wrong code. STOP tell me.
    "Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked.
    Used up all your free tries!!

    If nothing happens, code stays on the screen:
    Put in a NEW SIM from a new Network.
    Power on.
    Select UNDO with NEW SIM in phone.
    Enter code as above.
    Select OK.

    If it does not work, tell me: What happened? What message
    you got. What codes you tried.
    Above all, answer.

    It worked. I got a "phone restrictions off" message. Hopefully I'll be able to use in in NY now. I'll know for sure when I try the new sim, but I'll definitely let you know. Thanks so much.
