I need help unlocking my Nokia phone 6102i.
I am leaving the country soon.

Provider is Cingular, USA

Try other sim,not Cingular,to check it.

 

will my service provider know that I unlocked my phone? In otherwords, will I get charged more in my billing?

This is a Tri-band phone. 850/1900/1800Mhz
It will work in most Countries.
In the US, the Networks use 850/1900 Mhz.
In Europe and most of the world, they use 900/1800Mhz.
Many Networks in Europe and most of the world support 1800hz.
Cingular will not know that it 9s unlocked.
You will need to buy a Local SIM on a Network that uses 1800Mhz in the Country you need to use the phone.
