I remember reading somewhere that you can use imation cdrw's to put music on your xbox, and since getting my burner i've made a copy of spiderman on a 4x mitsubishi dvd-r and it works perfectly in my xbox. Why? Shouldn't it detect it's burnt?

So this brings me onto my next question, is it possible to play backed up xbox games on an unmodded xbox?

    well
its the same with some cd-rw music cd's
(will play if xbox can read the media)
but games require a somewhat digital signature
wich can not be burned with any retail DVD-R+R

thats why we need the modchip

Yeah, cool cool, thought as much. Elver_Gun, do you have yours modded? If so, when playing games off your hdd, is the game in an iso image, or is it actually expanded in the partition? Cheers.
