    Hi,
I was just using my computer last night downloading a couple of torrents, everything worked fine. However, I did a disk clenup right before I went to bed. I woke up this morning, turned my computer on. All I get is the blue screen. The error message is unmountable boot volume. I have so much info on my computer, that I can not have get lost. MUSIC session files. I looked on the internet about this error and it said I can run the recovery console off of windows xp to repair. Would it delete any information or just replace what was lost. Is running the recovery menu the solution to that error message. Thanks.

Start by putting the xp disk in your disk drive. Start or restart your computer. The disk should boot the computer. Give you options of new install or repair. Before you do anything else. Just esc the installation window. Take the disk out and restart. See if the boot files were restored by just booting to the disk. If not do the process again and see if you can do a non destructive repair. If your computer won't boot from the xp cd, then the computer is set to boot from the hard drive first, you will have to go into your bios and then the boot tab, then select the cd/dvd drive for first boot. Make sure your hard drive is listed second. Try the repair if needed, it may not be successful if you have sp2 and are trying to repair with the older version of xp. Good luck.
