Demuxed an .mkv file and got an AAC audio file. MediaInfo reveals it's 2-Channel and I'd like to convert it to an MP3 file.

Is there any freeware out there that can do it? Or is there a method that I can use with LAME?

AVIDeMux can handle it. You may have to use the original MKV if it won't open an audio file without video.

I use the old Winamp version 2.x.
There is a plugin the decodes the file, and a simple setting in
Winamp that saves the file as a WAV, instead of playing the audio.

That's another idea, if it plays in WinAmp you can use the 'LAME out' plug=in and do it that way.
