I have been backing up my movies for a while now with DVD XCopy Express and it has been working fine.Now for some reason everytime I try to back up a movie it finishes and says completted sucessufully but when I play back the movie it says there is a disk with an unsupported format in the drive.Or XCopy just freezes up in the middle of the movie.The disk is ruined.I have made like 5 coasters already.I tried to use DVD Shrink and then burn the movie with DVD Decrypter and it worked fine the first time but the next time it said the unsupported format again.What is causing this?
Sounds like a disc quality issue. If you follow the same procedure each time, there is no reason that some backups work and others don't. I know, you managed to create backups that play fine, but that' exactly the problem with cheap discs: they are not consistent. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I have complete success with Maxell, but many people here recommend Ritek G04.
