After converting xVid files using VSODivxToDVD I find that there are a lot of random pixcels cropping up particularly when a scene changes from dark to light or vice versa . Is the VSO software lacking in some way ( anything better ? ) or is this something which you have to expect when compressing/decompressing files? Any help would be appreciated . regards
Check the source file - all play good there? You can try changing the aspect to the one your in from automatic - NTSC for US, Canada and PAL for Europe etc. Other good ones: VSODivX's big brother is ConvertXtoDVD. Not free - has a trial but leaves a watermark on the trial. There's also Vision in Nero's software. That has a fully functional trial. Another could be the discs your using - though if it's only happening in these scene changes may not be it. But which are you using? Burn speed?
