Has anyone else heard the latest story doing the rounds about UPC having serious cashflow problems? If this were true, where would this leave cable tv in Ireland?

Doubt it, rumours have been gone around like that about NTL Ireland, before UPC bought them over.

Rubish i think. Now with the nag 3 implemented and unhackable (for short to medium term anyway) they have no probs getting investors. They are taking a longer term view and it is pushing their broadband packages along with TV package. they have a constant flow of money every month from their customers ....

UPC are a multi-million euro company, they have plenty of cashflow available.

sorry had to add this bit in but is it not in upec contract for the company that done the encryption if it is broke/cracked within 2 years they get there money back and a 6 figure payment/settlement??
after all they got a lot of customers that left s*y and got the basic package,
