Upconverting

    hey If some may know im looking to buy an audio recievr and one taht im looking at up-converts dvd signals.

    My question is I have a standard TV (27 inch toshiba) would up converting have any benefit at all since My tv isnt progressive or HD?
    Also I have s-video right now and was wondering should I make the move to component on this tv?

    no, there is no point if you don't have HDTV.
