Alright, I'm running Windows 98SE and I'm having problems with the FAT32 thing where I can't make ISOs larger then 4 GBs and such. My question is, if I do a straight upgrade to Win2K without formating my HD, will that fix the problem? I've heard that it will, but I don't want to format my HD to upgrade.

i cant say if it will or will not but if you want my opinion you need to back up your essentials and format and do a clean install of 2000, just upgrading your inviting any and all problenms that may exist in your 98 system to hang around, but in your shoes what i would do is upgrade see how things run....but i would definatly back up your important stuff to hd/cd/dvd...ok gl.

Even if you would upgrade without formatting the HD, you'd run the risk of data loss, and as basquiat mentioned, numerous possible problems.
I'd suggest backing up your data and making sure you have all your software handy, and do clean reinstall, letting the win2k disc do a format.
