Hi everyone, I just recently upgraded an HP desktop to handle games a little better, and it works fine except for one flaw: the PC reboots after awhile. What I mean is that I will be playing a game such as Team Fortress 2, probably for a few hours, and then it reboots. Everything seems fine, but after playing for a little while again, it reboots once more. I'm trying to figure out if it was something I did during the installation or if there's something I'm forgetting. I've upgraded computers before so it never seemed to be a problem, so this is brand new to me. So, here is what I'm running in case anyone can help me. CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66ghz GPU: nVidia GForce 9800GTX+ 512MB PSU: COOLMAX CU-700B 700W RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 The motherboard wasn't upgraded as I found out that it was what I needed for all the parts. The computer that I upgraded is a HP a6600f desktop model. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.
It sounds like an overheating issue. The power supply should be way more than enough. What did you upgrade in the PC?
I just found out it was actually a Left 4 Dead issue. I went through multiple sites to find out that for some people who have quad-cores, the game doesn't like multi-processing. So I had to set it to single-core. Thanks for trying guys.
