Hey there, all though I've been working on my pc for a while now, I'm kind of new to the concept of upgrading.

Recently, I bought 1gb RAM. I already had 512 present in the form of three 128 cards.

I tried out the three cards, with my 1gig, and it picks it up as 1.5gig RAM. However, I noticed the pc, still takes a little longer to load.

Now, I'm just running the pc with 1gig.

I was wondering if its a good idea, to leave 2 128 on 2 slots on a side, and install the 1gig on the other side.

Also, is there a sort of primary, and secondary slot section for RAM, and how do you find out if there is?

3x128 is not 512 meg but 384 meg. what speed is the cpu? how much stuff do you have in your startup/taskbar? what is the make & model# of the computer or motherboard to see what you have? onboard video or seperate videocard? ide or sata hd tho presume ide because of ram?
