I havent been able to find an upgrading forum so this place is better that nothing. You guys so far havent lead me astray. So here it goes.

    Question:

I need advice and comparison between the:

T8300 <===> T9300 and if its worth the cash to get the t9500 instead if the t9300?

FYI this is for my p-6831 Gateway FX gaming lappy.

    Current Specs are:
    T5450 1.66Ghz
    3gigz for Ram
    250Gb hd 5400RPM
    17-inch WXGA 1400 x 900 native resolution
    512MB 8800M GTS

The only reason why i bought it was through some thorough research i found this item to be very upgradable.

But i dont know what would be compatible with ram....HD....and screen

Laptops tend not to be very upgradeable, I scarcely see them otherwise. You can sometimes upgrade the CPU with one from the same series, but no other, you can add RAM and change the hard disk, the rest are usually pretty model-specific and unchangeable.
This laptop has a powerful graphics card, but is let down by a mediocre screen and a slow processor. If you are able to swap it out for a 2Ghz new model chip, then by all means do so, but you ought to find out if it's compatible first, that's not often the case with notebooks.

    the ever so informed Sammorris.....

I guess i wasn't clear on my OP. Through a bit of research and discussion with a friend we discovered that P-6831 Gateway laptop is VERY upgradeable.

My main question or request i guess was for a comparison between:
    intel's Due processors:

    T8300 <===> T9300

this is my first upgrade im looking. but i need a little info on the too. and as well if it makes sence to throw the t9500 into that mix.

Sounds like you've done your research. Go with the highest CPU you can stick in there really... Make sure it's compatible first, then stick it in. The 9300 is a reasonable amount faster than the 8300, and the same goes for the 9500 vs 9300.
