I have a computer that is not recognizing a dvd that has been burnt in India. I tried to play it on my friend's computer, and it played there. Tried to install some codec's, but my computer is not even recognizing this dvd.

    Please help!

The most likely problem is firmware which tells your drive which media are acceptable. Go to your drive Manufacturers site and get the latest firmware and install it. If that doesn't help, make sure your drive will play that type (plus + or minus - R) disc. Perhaps your Drive is compliant to only one type. To find out what type disc you have download DVDinfopro. Oh, and send Nick a couple of bucks for it, it's good.

Or make a copy of your dvd on your friend's pc with a disc that works on both your pc and your friend's.
