Can anyone please tell me why my firefox is getting a bit slow now? When I first download Firefox, I was amazed because of its tweaking settings and how fast and safe it was. However, right now, it really slowed down dramtaically.

For instance, when I open it from my desktop, it will take me about 10sec. Whereas before it only takes me a second. Plus, I see alot of freezing going on when starting up firefox.

Don't get me wrong. I totally love firefox. I just want it to be the same as it was before. (fast, and no freezing)

One more thing, this thing sometimes pops-up during the middle of my surfing hours. click the link..

actually, this pic is not really the thing that I wanted u guys to see. Since I mistakenly deleted it, I'll just describe it.

It pops-up and says that there's an error. There are options to choose from. Send error, Debug, Don't send error. Ok, sorry if its not to detailed but still, Am hoping you guys could help me to prevent this from happening.

    THANK YOU! :D

I don't know if it will help for a fact, but I [bold]do know[/bold] that it will not hurt. It is worth trying if you want it fixed.

    reistalling it may help.
or see if you can repair it.
if you uninstall it get rid of its folder in application and program files aswell, then reinstall it ok!
then use Gstars guide to speed up firefox found at near the top of this room.

do a virus and spyware scan to be sure nothing has been put on your pc that might interfere with it.

fake fake fake, you get pop up like these? whilst youe surfing.
if it was a pop up and they are asking you to download something then it is a one hundred percent hoax, i am guessing it is the same as winfixer, a pop up that seems to be everywhere, lol.
anyway if you real do think you got some kind of virus or spyware/malware get spybot search and destroy run a scan and that will do the trick as for the virus part, you your anti virus scanning program if you dont have one i reccomend getting Mcaffee as i have had a great experience with them they even have a free education version, the only difference between the free and paid is that the paid comes with the ful suit whereas free is a stadalone scanner and remover, i think!

ummm, just to back myself up, i just got rid of winantivirus PRO using Spybot SD it definatly has to be spyware, adware or malware onee of the three. I dont know how i got it, but i am guessing it must have come through when i was doing research on it and ended up on a site promoting the adware/malware/spyware wateva it is ;(

One thing you should know with all Gecko-descended browsers - DO NOT INSTALL THE TALKBACK AGENT! ALWAYS DO A "CUSTOM" INSTALLATION AND MAKE SURE IT IS NOT INSTALLED! This has been true since Netscape 2.0 and is just as true now - it causes severe stability problems. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling without that option and see what happens. I've found Windows' built-in error reporting service can also cause stability problems.

However, the version of Firefox being reported in that screenshot you provided doesn't jibe with any existing version of Firefox, so I would not rule out malware. There ARE established, Java-based malwares that attack Firefox, and I'm sure there are lesser-known or 0-day sploits that attack Firefox's GeckoActiveX. In the future, I recommend disabling Java and XPInstall.

I know you have Spysweeper, but you cannot rely on just one anti-malware tool. In case you haven't already, try also Ad-Aware and SpyBot S&D, and, perhaps, run the free version of Ewido Anti-Spyware. It won't remove any malware, but you can usually fix that with other means.

OH yea, I forgot to mention that I also had Lavasoft AD-Aware. Thanks anyway! :D

BTW, I need Java in one of my sites so there is no way that I could delete it...

I also need java for uploading some pictures for my site..

Unless there's another way for it..?
