You will get that speed easily.

You have it setup wrong at the moment. Need to go into your bios and find the setting for FSB and change it from 100 (which I guess it is on now) and change it to 166.

It is in a different place from board to board, but the motherboard manual should tell you where to look.

    Will be fine then.

    Cheers.

ok the bios only allowes me to change the frequency on DRAM and is currently at 166, BUT it doesnt let me change the Cpu Frequency. the bios automaticaly reads the settins from the external clock, so i changed the jumpers on the mobo from 100 to 133, then my cpu started working at 1667 Mhz (1.6 Ghz), and when i changed them again to 166, i went to the bios and checked if the new frequency was changed. but it was still at 133, so i did further research and found out that the motherboard im using ASUS A7S8X-MX acepts cpus with 333 Mhz Frequency but it makes them work at 133 :S can someone help me i was thinkin of buying a new mobo :) with overcloaking features because this one doesnt even let me change the vcore voltage or any oc features

if your jumpers only allow 100 or 133, then you will never get your cpu up to speed with that motherboard. You need to have the option of 166, because the FSB for the CPU is supposed to be 333mhz (~166 x 2). Sorry. Motherboards are cheap, get a new one, or you will be stuck with an UNDERCLOCKED processor.

I know this response in to late ,but maybe it will help someone else with this board. all u had to do is set the jumpers on the motherboard to 133 and it would have been ok. this board has 100,133 and 166 jumper settings.
