Im trying to install my Xecuter 3 solderless chip. I cant get all of the wires to install properly. Out of the 5 holes, 2 i cant get them to lock in. Im reading the manual and it says optional hot glue gun, or use a stick pin to open up the holes. I dont wanna ruin the pad with the stick pin, so which option would be the best one?
dont use hotglue, just keep trying, eventually ull get it. hotglue is not a good solution. if anything ever goes wrong and the chip needs to be taken out. ur gunna have a fun time removing that hotglue from the motherboard. you bound to lift traces.
I can't believe hotglue was in the instructions. They need to be shot. Do you have a wire brush? Use the teeth on a STIFF wire brush to clear the holes for any hotglue mistakes. 30 gauge wire is pretty damn small, not to mention the size on the holes it goes in. Good luck and no hot glue (or any glue for that matter. Now if you already have the chip working, glue is acceptable to prevent accidental slipping of the pins, but still not advised. Nothing beats solder!!!
