Hi there i have a BTC usb 2.0 16x Dvd writer And the power cord for the external case is broken so i cant power the drive I have opend up the external casing To get to the drive and put it in my desktop I can get the drive to dectect in windows And read disks But when I try and burn A disk I allways get errors this drive workd fine no errors when it was usb . My question is This Is it happning because it spose to be a usb Drive and if so is there any way i could flash the drive or something to make it work I rember When it was working As the usb drive i could set the booktype but now it wont let me Please someone give me some insite Thans muchley for any time and help Peace
The computer has no way of knowing whether or not the drive was installed into a USB enclosure. If it's IDE, make sure that the master/slave jumper is set correctly for your PC.
Oh yip thanks I just Ended up pluging the Board that was in the xternal case into the drive and With a splitter connected the drive to the computer power And connected the Usb cable and it connected and Worked sweet So ill burn a disk and see what happens Its still in the computer Quite a nice job realy I might try plug it back in to the pc And just use diffrent Media and see if that helps I can set the book type now tho so thats good Thansk for your reply tho its good to know it shouldnt make a diffrance
