I have a softmodded xbox with a 320 gig hard drive. It has all sorts of emulators intalled, and xbmc.

What I want to do next is to not use a PC as a network shared drive to the xbox, but rather use an external enclosure, from USB to ethernet.

I was looking at this device here:
    http://www.addonics.com/products/nas/nasu2.asp

It will take a USB external enclosure, and turn it into a NAS which can be added to a router or to a PC.

If I use this, will I be able to configure it correctly in xbmc to see my external hard drive?

I want to save power, and I don't want to have a computer with me all the time when I can use usb external hard drive.

should work, but no guarantees as it may need to be connected to a router or pc to get an ip. If it requires a dhcp server somewhere on the lan then you will be wasting your money.
