USB Wont Recognize Device

    Hi,
    I have an HP 840 Lightscribe DVD RW that I have been using successfuly for a few years. Today I burned a DVD, left for work, and when I returned the device would not open (still closed with dvd in it)...I unplugged it and it came back with this message..."USB wont recognize device"...Has anybody run into a similar problem or know how to fix this...Thanks

    Can you plug it into another PC to see what happens.
