Hi, I bought a lg gsa-4167b dvd writer, and I installed it into a computer and it worked fine. Then I deciede to make it external and bought a 5.25" enclosure for it. I installed it and plugged it into the computer but the computer doesn't recongise the external drive!

I have a question, unlike installing for the computer this enclosure only had three plugs to go into the dvd writer, I don't know the technical names for them, but I installed the biggest plugs (the white one, and the really wide one), but the enclosure did not have the very very small one that goes on the left that you use when installing it in the computer. Is this how it supposed to be?

That would be a missing audio cable.... What brand/model enclosure are you using? It's probably better suited for hard drives... LG's are almost as picky as BenQ about the type (chipset) of the enclosures they are housed in...
